Is the Enoden Train in Kamakura Accessible?
Yes, but there are some things you should be prepared for
Over the weekend, I went to Kamakura - one of my favourite spots in Japan. It is hilly and not terribly accessible. But it still has a charm that makes it worth the visit.
As one of the past capitals of Tokyo, it is filled with historic temples and shrines. But the beach and waves, and its proximity to Tokyo attracts surfers and young people interested in lounging in the sun. This gives the city a unique mix of history and youthful energy.
The train running through the city can be an attraction in itself with a nostolgic feel and great views of the ocean.
You can read more about it - and my accessibility suggestions - here on our latest blog.
On a different note, we are aiming to increase the number of guest writers on Accessible Japan - particularly locals living with disabilities in Japan. Not only can it allow us to give you a more local point of view, but it will allow us to give back as employers.
This will of course cost money to pay for their contributions. If you are interested in supporting us in bringing on local writers, please consider becoming a paid subscriber, telling others about Accessible Japan and this newsletter, or sharing about us in another way.
